Treat Yo Self!

Treat Yo Self!

When it comes to a Walt Disney World vacation, it’s sometimes hard to decide where and when it’s important to splurge and what’s worth skipping and saving a bit of money! I asked our team at Living With The Magic Vacations if they could splurge on ONE thing at Walt Disney World, what would it be? Check out their answers (and comment below with yours)!

I like splurging on souvenirs like my Dooney and Burke purse but I also like experiences like tours. If I had to pick though, it would be a tour…like a VIP. Go big or go home right? – Kelly VanEerden

Sarah Tickner also agreed on the VIP Tour!

For me it would be staying at a deluxe resort. I like the grand Floridian for it has access right to the monorail. I liked Animal Kingdom for the views of the animals right outside your balcony. – Melanie Frodel

An experience – like a fireworks boat cruise at the Magic Kingdom! – Lauren Pettis

Keys to the kingdom tour, for sure. – Marc Weimann

Fireworks boat cruise at EPCOT- Amy Smith

A stay in a Bungalow at Disney’s Polynesian Village – Aly Hirst
(Aly had quite a few other agents agree with her on this one!)

Club level at Contemporary with theme park view! – Beth Chatteron

Club level at Grand Floridian Resort & Spa with Magic Kingdom View! – Courtney Davis

Then some agents couldn’t keep their splurges to just ONE thing!

Contemporary after a Christmas party night! Then a VIP tour and keys to the kingdom and walking in Walt’s footsteps. And if we are REALLY dreaming Club 33 LOL! – Andrea Trelles

Club level and a fireworks party or tequila tasting – Leigh Connelly

Tour, club level, fireworks party!!- Stephanie Rose

Victoria & Alberts (sadly still not open), Wild Africa Trek & private photo session- Stacy Cook

Is it at Walt Disney World? If it is then a VIP Tour. If just Disney destination it would be an Adventure by Disney trip! – Megan Keebaugh

And to add one more to the list, I’ll definitely say a dessert party at the Magic Kingdom! Comment below with your favorite Walt Disney World splurge!!

Nursing While at Walt Disney World

Nursing While at Walt Disney World

We took my daughter to Disney World for her first birthday, while she was still nursing. It was important for me to know quiet places I might be able to retreat to when she needed to nurse. In Florida, it is within your every right to breastfeed where you please, even at Disney World. No need to seclude yourself or go to a bathroom (YUCK!) If you, or your baby, need a little less stimulation and a little more privacy, I have put together a list of quiet places to nurse.

Baby Care Centers

First and foremost, Disney has baby care centers in all four of their theme parks. In these buildings, you will find a plethora of changing tables, a small store with diapers, baby food, infant formula, and the like. You will also find a nursing room. It has some rocking chairs and some small tables. There are also outlets available if you need to pump. The lights are dim and of course it is climate controlled. A great place to go if your little needs less stimulation to feed.

Rides and Attractions

There are some rides and attractions that you can nurse on discreetly, without having to miss out on the fun!

Magic Kingdom:

  • Hall of Presidents
  • It’s a Small World
  • Country Bear Jamboree
  • Carousel of Progress (21 minutes long!)
  • People Mover
  • Mickey’s Philharmonic
  • Tom Sawyer’s Island
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid

Epcot:

  • American Adventure
  • Living with the Land
  • The Seas with Nemo and Friends
  • Impressions de France
  • Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros
  • Spaceship Earth
  • Frozen Ever After

Animal Kingdom:

  • The Boneyard
  • Festival of the Lion King
  • Na’vi River Journey

Hollywood Studios:

  • Voyage of the Little Mermaid
  • A “Frozen” Sing-Along Celebration
  • Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage

Any place you want!

As stated earlier, you are allowed to nurse wherever you feel comfortable. There are quiet corners hidden in all areas of the park. My favorite is in the Seas Pavillon watching the fish swim by, or if you want to sit on the hub grass, while taking in views of Cinderella’s Castle, feel free! Lots of moms, those who are more coordinated than I ever was, even nurse in their baby carriers while touring the parks. Just remember to stay hydrated!

“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” Walt Disney

Hi! I am Kristy Binns, a Travel Planner with the amazing team at Living With The Magic Vacations. My husband, Reagan, and I have 3 boys (ages 14, 12, and 8) and we live in Northwest Arkansas. When I’m not helping my boys’ with homework or cheering them on in basketball or baseball, you can find me planning vacations! I have found my dream job in helping clients plan vacations that will provide memories that last a lifetime! I am a details person and I love planning all the things! Planning vacations for clients, who become friends, gives me such joy! Every trip I have planned has made me want to jump in the suitcase and go along, and I can’t wait to hear all about their trip when they return.

My first trip to Walt Disney World was at the age of 9, and I have been blessed to go back many times in various stages of my life. I have been with friends in college, my 5yo niece, with another couple, with my husband before kids, and I have taken my kids a few times. Last May we took our children – so I can tell you all about pre-teen/teenage boys having a blast at WDW! I have also been to Disneyland and on 4 Disney Cruises (2 with my best friend, 1 with my husband, and 1 with 2 of my boys – it’s time for another one with all of them!). I look forward to sharing my experiences with you in order to make your vacation as magical as it can be!

In the past few years, I have fallen in love with RV vacations!  We have visited many places in the RV – Colorado Springs, Skiing in Granby Ranch, Colorado, Great Sand Dunes in Colorado, Arches National Park in Moab, Utah, whitewater rafting in the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone National Park, Mt. Rushmore, the Badlands, and most recently Walt Disney World’s Fort Wilderness Campground. Our family loves to visit the Gulf beaches and hike in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. We also enjoy making quick weekend visits to Branson, Missouri to visit Silver Dollar City amusement park.

I am looking forward to visiting Walt Disney World in January and a girls-only vacation to Universal Studios in May! I can’t wait to help you and your family have an amazing vacation with many lasting memories. Whether you would like to go on a Disney vacation, Universal Resort in Orlando, all-inclusive beach vacation in the Caribbean, or on a cruise you can leave all the planning details up to me and all you have to do is show up and have fun!
