A travel advisor for Walt Disney World plans the big pieces of your trip, like which park to visit each day, dining reservations, Lightning Lanes and airport transfers. Just as important, we catch the hundreds of little details that quietly make or break a vacation… the ones you won’t find on Google or in a discussion forum.
On any given morning, our team is doing things most families never see. Recently, one of our advisors was double checking that a client’s park tickets were linked correctly in My Disney Experience. Another found big mistakes in a family’s account and spent hours on the phone with Disney’s tech support getting it all fixed before the trip. Nobody posts about that part on social media, but it’s the work that keeps your vacation on track!
Here’s exactly what working with a travel advisor for Walt Disney World looks like, from the moment you book to the moment you’re home.
What a Travel Advisor for Walt Disney World Does Before You Go
Picking the Right Park for Each Day
To get the most out of your time in the parks, I use my own first hand experience, historic crowd patterns and exclusive resources to recommend the best park for your family each day of your vacation. Park hours, special events and even the day of the week all play a part. If you’re wondering where to start, our guide to which Walt Disney World park to visit first is a great place to begin.
Dining Reservations at 60 Days (and Long After)
Walt Disney World dining reservations open 60 days ahead, and if you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can book for your entire stay (up to 10 days) once that window opens. That same window covers tours, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeovers and more. You can read more on Disney’s own planning site.
I check in with you before that date so we have a plan, then I help with recommendations and booking. And if we can’t grab a certain restaurant on your booking day, I don’t stop there. I keep watching for openings right up until you arrive, because last minute cancellations happen all the time! Still deciding how to handle meals? Our post on whether the Walt Disney World Dining Plan is worth it breaks it down.
Lightning Lanes Without the Overwhelm
Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass can feel like a whole second vacation to figure out. Walt Disney World Resort hotel guests can book 7 days before check-in, and everyone else books 3 days before each park day. You can see Disney’s answer on booking windows here.
I’ll make sure you know exactly how it all works before you leave, and you’ll get a Lightning Lane cheat sheet to keep on your phone.
Your Touring the Parks Guide
You’ll receive a Touring the Parks guide to help you move through each park, with a plan for using Lightning Lanes or skipping them, my favorite quick service spots and plenty of tips. Before you leave, we can hop on a call to go over your guide and any last minute questions.
Insider Tips Delivered to Your Inbox
Forget hunting down every tip on your own! Between booking and departure, you’ll get a series of “Did you know” emails plus a packet full of hints, information and updates for your trip. You’ll feel like the Walt Disney World expert in your family in no time.
Getting From the Airport to Your Resort
If you’re flying in, you’ll need a way to get to your resort and back. Rental car, private transfer or a shared shuttle… each one changes your arrival day in a different way. I’ll walk you through what fits your family and book it for you.
Strollers, ECVs and Grocery Delivery
If your family needs a stroller rental, or someone in your group needs an ECV for mobility, I’ll arrange the rental for you. I’ll also make sure you have everything you need to get groceries delivered to your resort, so you aren’t figuring it out after a long travel day.
Payments and One Point of Contact
I’ll keep you on track with every payment, and I’m your point of contact for questions before your trip and even while you’re there.
The Little Things You Can’t Google
The list above is what most people picture when they think of a travel advisor. But honestly, the little things are where we earn our keep.
It’s knowing whether you should pick up your stroller at the airport or have it waiting in the resort lobby. It’s deciding between a private transfer and a big shuttle when you have a toddler who naps at 1:00. It’s tracking down a hard to get reservation for a family who booked last minute. It’s making sure every ticket is linked to the right person, so nobody is stuck at the park entrance.
These are the questions that keep moms up at night three weeks before a trip, and they’re exactly what we handle every day.
What a Real Day at Walt Disney World Looks Like
Real life is NOT the commercials you see on TV. A Walt Disney World day involves a lot of walking, some lines, a snack break (or three) and usually a tired kiddo by mid afternoon.
Part of my job is giving you a realistic picture of what can actually fit in a day. When the plan matches real life, your family enjoys the day instead of racing through it. We’d rather you do five things happily than ten things in tears.
You Don’t Need the “Perfect” Trip
There is SO much pressure on social media to have the perfect Walt Disney World vacation. It can start to feel like if you miss one restaurant or one ride, the whole trip is ruined.
It isn’t. No single reservation will make or break your vacation. The best moments are usually the ones you never planned.
On our family’s Universal trip, one of our favorite memories was sitting in the Three Broomsticks for an hour, eating every flavor jelly beans and laughing at each new flavor. It wasn’t on any itinerary… it just happened. You can’t plan moments like that, but you can plan a trip with enough breathing room for them to find you.
That’s what we’re really planning for. The little moments and tiny things are what MAKE the trip.
Is a Travel Advisor for Walt Disney World Right for You?
We’ll be honest, we aren’t for everyone. If you love researching every detail yourself, you’ll probably enjoy doing just that!
But if planning this trip is starting to feel like a second job, that’s exactly where we come in. The earlier you reach out, the more options you’ll have, and our guide on how far in advance to book a vacation explains why timing matters so much for Walt Disney World.
