There’s a moment every Disney fan knows. You walk onto Main Street, U.S.A., the castle comes into view, and for just a second, everyone in your family goes quiet. I’ve chased that feeling for as long as I can remember… and as a Disney College Program Cast Member at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios, I got to see it from the other side.
Behind the scenes, I learned that magic doesn’t just happen. Someone plans it, down to the smallest detail, so the families walking down Main Street never have to think about it. That lesson came home with me, through my years at the Disney Store and beyond.
In 2010, I found a way to make it my career. I became a travel advisor, and for my first five years I planned only Walt Disney World vacations. Then the families who trusted me with Disney started trusting me with everything else… their cruises, their all-inclusive getaways, their once-in-a-lifetime trips. Disney opened the door, and my clients walked me right through it. That’s when I founded Living With The Magic Vacations.
What I didn’t have when I started was a team. No real training, no mentor to call, no one cheering me on. So I built the agency I wish I’d had. Today we’re a Travel Leaders Network President’s Circle agency, which puts us in the top 1% of agencies, and we’re Disney EarMarked, Universal Preferred, and Sandals Preferred.
But the magic I’m proudest of now isn’t on Main Street. It’s watching our advisors build businesses of their own, one family at a time.
What This Is (and What It Isn’t)
This is a real travel business. You’ll plan vacations for real families, from the first conversation to the moment they’re home again with a camera roll full of memories. If you’ve seen other “travel opportunities” online, here’s how we’re different:
| What it is | What it isn't | |
|---|---|---|
| Where your income comes from | Commission from travel suppliers on the trips you book for your clients | Money from recruiting other people or building a "downline" |
| What you offer | Your expertise, planning custom vacations around each family | Discount codes or a booking link you hope someone clicks |
| How you find clients | You build your own client list and market your business, with training to help you do it well | Waiting for leads to be handed to you |
| Support | Real training, a mentor to call, and a team cheering you on | Figuring it all out on your own |
| Your schedule | Flexible work you build around your family | A get-rich-quick side gig |
| How you join | An application and a real interview, because we're selective about fit | Sign up online and start today |
How We Support You
Training from day one. You’ll learn our agency processes and complete supplier training at your own pace, then keep growing with ongoing team trainings throughout the year. Every new advisor also completes a practice quote before going live, so your first real client never feels like a test.
A mentor in your corner. Once you’ve finished your setup and training, you’ll be paired with an experienced advisor who helps you through those first real bookings and the questions that come with them.
A team that actually talks to each other. Our advisors share tips, celebrate wins, and help each other problem-solve. New advisors also have their own group for their first 18 months, so there’s always a place to ask the “is this a silly question?” questions.
Help with the marketing part. You’ll build your own business, but you won’t start from a blank page. We’ll help you choose one social platform to focus on instead of trying to be everywhere, and our team has shared email marketing and branding resources to help you look polished from the start.
Real tools and systems. From our agency processes to the planning tools we use every day, you’ll have a proven way of doing things instead of inventing it all yourself.
Disney Might Be Where You Start…
Almost every advisor on our team started the same way, as the friend everyone asked about Disney. Where they went from there is completely their own.
- From Disney to beaches and the open sea. One of our advisors started out planning Disney vacations and now spends most of her time on all-inclusive getaways and cruises, helping families trade theme park mornings for sand between their toes.
- From Disney to Europe and big adventures. Another found her passion in once-in-a-lifetime trips, the kind of vacations families talk about for years.
- From Disney to our biggest Royal Caribbean seller. One advisor discovered she loved cruising so much that she became the agency’s top Royal Caribbean advisor.
- From Disney to Disney and then some. A fellow Disney College Program alum still loves planning Disney vacations and has added cruising right alongside them.
Every one of them had the same starting point you do… a love of Disney and a knack for helping people plan. What they built from there came from their own interests, their own clients, and a team that helped them grow into it.
That’s the beauty of building your own business. Disney opens the door, and you decide which way to walk through it!
F.A.Q.
How do I become a travel agent who specializes in Disney?
It starts with an application, not a sign-up button. Tell us about yourself and your travel experience, and if it looks like a good fit, we’ll walk you through the rest of our process, including a real conversation with our team. Once you join, you’ll complete training, set up your business, and plan your first trips with support every step of the way.
Do I need travel industry experience?
No travel industry experience is needed. What you do need is firsthand travel experience, with at least three vacations in the past three years to a Disney destination, a cruise, or an all-inclusive resort. You’ll also need a computer with reliable internet and comfort with email and social media. We’ll teach you the rest.
How much does it cost?
Getting started costs under $100, and our monthly fee is under $40. That covers your agency email, our CRM with built-in email marketing, business cards, training, and more. No surprise costs, no expensive starter kits, and no pressure to buy anything to “level up.”
Why can’t I just do this on my own?
You could try, but you’d be going in blind. Becoming a travel advisor takes licensing, insurance, and industry affiliations before you ever book a trip. Even then, you’d have nothing to work from… no templates, no documents, no policies, and no one to ask when something comes up. With us, all of that is already built, and you have a whole team to turn to.
Is this an MLM?
No. You’ll never earn money by recruiting other people, and no one earns money off you joining. Your income comes from the trips you plan for your clients, period.
Is this like those travel memberships with booking links and discounts?
Not at all. You’re not buying access to “discounts” or sharing a link and hoping someone clicks it. You’re a real travel advisor, planning custom vacations and taking care of every detail for the families who trust you.
How do I get paid?
You earn commission from the travel suppliers on the trips you book. Some of our advisors also choose to charge a planning fee for certain types of trips.
Will you give me clients?
New advisors build their own client list, the same way any small business owner does. That’s what makes it your business. We’ll help you get there with marketing training, email marketing tools, and guidance on choosing the right social platform for you.
How much time does it take? Can I work around my kids?
You set your own schedule, which is why so many moms love this work. The one thing we ask is that you respond to clients within 24 hours, because taking care of families is what we do best.
Do I have to travel?
Yes, and it’s one of the best parts! Experiencing destinations yourself is what makes you the expert your clients trust.
What training and support will I get?
You’ll start with self-paced supplier training and learn our agency processes, then complete a practice quote before working with real clients. After that, you’ll have a mentor, ongoing team trainings, and a group just for newer advisors.
What does the application process look like?
After you apply, you’ll receive our advisor guide so you know exactly what to expect. From there, you’ll complete a short destination quiz and a sample social media post, followed by a phone interview with our leadership team.
Why don’t you accept everyone?
Because we’re protective of our team and our clients. This is an independent role, so we look for advisors who are self-motivated, love to learn, and genuinely care about families. A good fit matters more to us than a big team.
Ready to Apply?
If you’ve read this far and you’re excited instead of overwhelmed, you might be exactly who we’re looking for!
Our process is simple, but it’s intentional. After you submit your application, you’ll receive our advisor guide with everything you need to know about the role and what we expect. Next, you’ll complete a short destination quiz and a sample social media post, so we can see how you think and how you’d share your love of travel. If it feels like a fit on both sides, we’ll set up a phone interview with our leadership team.
We take our time because we want this to be right for you, too. Building a travel business is a big decision, and we want you to say yes knowing exactly what you’re saying yes to.
