On our most recent trip to Disneyland, we were able to enjoy the fully operational world of Galaxy’s Edge.  Immersed in one of my family’s favorite universes, we spent hours delving into every corner of the world.  Piloting the Millennium Falcon, searching for Rebel leaders Rey and Vi Moradi and avoiding interrogations by Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren worked up quite the appetite.

Docking Bay 7 provides authentic Star Wars inspired dishes straight from the quiet planet of Batuu.  A quick service restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, Docking Bay 7 feels like you have entered the locals’ favorite establishment.  At the entrance we were greeted by smiling locals wishing us Bright Suns! The menu choices were robust and offered something for everyone, including our youngest explorers.

I opted for Roasted Endorian Chicken Salad.  This hearty dish features chicken atop a bed of vegetables.  This dish also comes in a fried version with potatoes and greens.  Both were tied as a new favorite Disney dish.

Two family members tried the Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs. This dish looks like something direct from the Star Wars movies in its presentation. It was a very yummy dish and had a mild spicy kick to it for pizazz.

There are many options for your younglings including Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip.  This dish was ample in portion size even though it was a child’s menu option.

Batuuan cuisine does not stop at Docking Bay 7. For those working hard for the rebellion, Ronto Roasters offers additional selections. Over in the marketplace, Kat Saka’s Kettle is a yummy version of a favorite Earth snack.  Do not forget to quench your thirst with a thermal detonator shaped Coke or Sprite labeled in the local dialect of Aurebesh.

For the even more adventurous intergalactic traveler, the Milk Stand offers Blue and Green versions of the classic Star Wars drink.

No trip to Batuu is complete without a stop at Oga’s Cantina. As the resident gangster boss, Oga is a shrewd businesswoman with no tolerance for shenanigans in her bar. Be sure to read the rules before you enter! You don’t want to accidentally bring a Kowakian Monkey-Lizard and get thrown out! Despite her mobster style, Oga’s bartenders serve up some of the galaxy’s favorite libations. From a Bad Motivator IPA to the Dagobah Slug Slinger there are options for everyone. In charge of driving the speeder home or looking for something the younglings would enjoy? Not to worry – try one of the many unleaded drinks such as the Hyperdrive (Punch It!) While unwinding, DJ Rex keeps the tunes coming for everyone’s enjoyment after a long day.

Galaxy’s Edge provides a fully immersive experience for both die-hard fans and newcomers alike. After working up an appetite escaping the First Order and piloting the Falcon, be sure to have a meal and get a snack before heading off world!
