This past December I was lucky enough to be among the first guests stay at Disney’s newest resort, Riviera. The resort is simply gorgeous. The lobby was small and intimate and the grounds were gorgeous.

I’m not usually one for character meals, especially without my kids. Don’t get me wrong, I love the characters just as much as the next Disney fan but I usually find the food to be lackluster and they seem to take much longer than the average meal. My current favorite character meal is Trattoria Al Forno (um hello Flynn Ryder)…or I should say WAS because Topolino’s Terrace  just bumped!

reakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends

Start your morning with breakfast at this beautiful rooftop restaurant offering an exclusive storybook dining experience. The prix fixe menu offers delicious choices to please everyone in the family.

While enjoying breakfast and the bird’s eye views, meet some of your favorite Disney Friends for a perfect photo and autograph opportunity! You may find yourself mingling with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck—stylishly dressed from head to toe in outfits unique to Topolino’s Terrace!

Breakfast begins with fresh pastries—delicious Danish, croissants, blueberry scones, or Epi bread—a rustic pull-apart baguette shaped like a wheat stalk. Your choice of entrées follows: Quiche Gruyère with house-made pancetta, Sour Cream Waffle, Wood-fired Butchers Steak, Smoked Salmon, Spiced Sausage Hash, Two Eggs Any Style, plant-based “Egg” Omelet and more. Whichever you select, breakfast in this charming café is an enchanting way to start your day.

The restaurant was elegant and tastefully decorated. The views a top the Riveria were simply incredible!

We ordered our drinks, coffee and orange juice, and were brought this adorable presentation of breakfast breads and pastries. The best part? They were served with butter, jam and NUTELLA! YES NUTELLA! I had died and gone to heaven!!

We sampled a few things, which were all tasty but I wanted to save room for my breakfast. My dining partner ordered the Quiche Gruyère ( House-made Pancetta, Roasted Potatoes, Field Greens, Lemon Vinaigrette ) while I ordered the Wood-fired Butchers Steak ( Polenta, Pomodoraccio Tomatoes, Roasted Onions, Wild Mushroom Conserva, Watercress). I’m a sucker for a good steak and this did not disappoint! It was flavorful and cooked perfectly!!

Let’s talk about how stinking adorable the characters were!! They were all artists; Mickey was a painter, Minnie a Poet, Donald a Sculpture and Daisy a ballerina! Just adorable! And they had a little moment with music where they danced around the room with the kids!

After breakfast, we wandered outside to the terrace for the incredible views!

I would not hesitate to come here again…in fact I’ll be joining my friends during our 5th Annual Girls Getaway Weekend here in April of 2020! This is one of my new favorite meals on property so don’t delay….add this to your must do meals at Walt Disney World!
