When you visit the Walt Disney World Resort your restaurant possibilities are endless, from casual sit down restaurants to character meals and upscale dining there really is something for everyone. But one of the most under talked about experiences are Disney’s Dinner Shows.  There are currently 2 dinner shows that have a long running history on property. Spirit of Aloha located at the Polynesian Village Resort and Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue located at Disney’s Ft. Wilderness Campground. Anyone who knows me or has been a client of mine knows that Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue is my absolute favorite dinner show and probably one of my Top 3 dining experiences at the Walt Disney World! It brings back many wonderful memories from trips when I was a child all the way to present day when I took my kids for the first time this past October.

So what is Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue exactly? Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue takes place 3 times every day of the week at Pioneer Hall. It takes you back to the Wild West with a 2 hour family fun show filled with dancing, singing and vaudeville comedy that will keep you laughing, clapping and singing along all night long! There is audience participation, so don’t be shy! One of my favorite parts of the show is the special re-enactment of the tale of Davy Crockett with selected audience members.

During the dinner show you will receive unlimited beverages, including unlimited Beer and Sangria for those over the age of 21. Dinner is also all you can eat. You will start with the most delicious cornbread with butter (yes we always order a 2nd piece) and mixed salad. Following that They ring the bell to alert everyone that dinner is served. On the menu…Fried Chicken, Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs (my personal favorite), Corn, Cowboy Baked Beans and Mashed potatoes.

You end the night swinging around your napkins and playing the washboard while enjoying my FAVORITE dessert on property- Strawberry Shortcake, which even has it’s own song to go along with it!

Hoop-Dee-Doo is considered a signature dining experience on the Disney dining plan, so you can use your dining credits for Category 2 and Category 3 seating and it will take 2 table service credits from your plan, but beverages and gratuity are already included! If you would like to sit in Category 1 seating you would have to pay for that out of pocket and payment is due upon booking, although it can be cancelled for a full refund up until 24 hours in advance.

If you do head to Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue make sure to walk around the Ft. Wilderness campground and check out CInderella’s Horses, the Clydesdales and you can even schedule a ride on a horse drawn carriage. My kiddos loved playing at the playground area while we waited to be seated. I promise if you attend the show you will not be disappointed, so don’t miss out on this wonderful experience during your next Walt Disney World vacation!
