A must-do for us (especially for our almost-3 year old boy) during our latest trip was T-Rex in Disney Springs, and let me tell you – it did not disappoint!

We’ve eaten at Rainforest Cafe before (which is owned by the same company) and enjoyed the theming there, but we were still blown away by the theming upon entering T-Rex. It seems like everywhere you turn there is more to see! I especially loved the underwater bar area – such a cool, relaxing respite from the heat outside.

Our table was located directly next to an animatronic T-Rex near the front of the restaurant, which I was a bit nervous about but my son absolutely LOVED him! Every few minutes the dinosaur would move or growl, which kept my sons attention. Any parent of a toddler knows that distractions during the wait for a sit-down dinner are a must!

Taking advantage of our Disney Dining Plan, we opted to try out some of their specialty alcoholic beverages. My husband’s favorite was the El Dorado, but they all looked amazing! We splurged on the Dinosaur sippy cup with a toy raptor in the bottom, which needless to say made for a happy little boy.

Our server was personable and kind, but it truthfully did seem to take awhile for the food to come out. There is no complimentary bread basket, so fellow hungry pregnant ladies beware! The wait was worth it though!

The adults in our party, with the exception of myself, all ordered from the “Carnivores” section of the menu and were all pleased – the Boneyard Buffet and Triassic Trio were particular favorites. I’m a huge fan of Yak & Yeti (which is owned by the same company), so naturally I had to order one of my favorite dishes – tikka masala! If you love Yak & Yeti but don’t have time in your schedule for a stop at Animal Kingdom, you can find many of your favorites at T-Rex! Yum!

To finish off the meal, we opted to combine all four of our desserts into one and order the Chocolate Extinction! Chocolate fudge, ice cream and toppings galore! We barely scratched the surface with so much to eat, but the presentation was awesome! Colt loved the “chocolate volcano!”

A stop at the gift shop on the way out is a must – you can even build your own stuffed dinosaur! We picked up a dinosaur monster truck to stash away for a birthday present, which is still a favorite toy to this day.

Overall, I’d highly recommend T-Rex, particularly for families with young boys or dinosaur-obsessed children. The theming is stunning, and the food was delicious to boot!
