Recently I had the opportunity to take a tour of Disney’s recently renovated Caribbean Beach Resort and try out the brand new Sebastian’s restaurant! I’ll be honest…it’s been YEARS since I felt comfortable recommending this resort to clients. It was outdated, HUGE, and continuously had housekeeping complaints! While the rooms could still use a little upgrade, overall the resort REALLY impressed me and I’m excited to share it with you!
While we didn’t stay at this resort, we did take a lot of time exploring the grounds. Before I jump into that, check out what the current rooms look like, from waltdisneyworld.com.
And of course the Pirate Themed Rooms (remember, these are double beds!)
Ok back to the resort!! My biggest complaint of this resort was that it used to have EIGHT internal bus stops and the front desk was in a completely separate building. NOW with the new renovations, the front desk is in the same building as the food court options and by the main feature pool and where Magical Express drops off. WIN!!
Coming in 2019, transportation to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios via Gondola!
Old Port Royale is home to the Front Desk, Banana Cabana, Calypso Trading Post, Centertown Market and Sebastian’s Bistro. It’s JUST beautiful…it’s far more of a Deluxe decor than we see in the other moderate resorts and most likely how Coronado Springs will feel once the new tower opens.
Outside is equally as nice, however the weather was no cooperating so the pictures don’t really showcase how amazing it was!
We didn’t have time to stop at Banana Cabana but it’s on my list to return!!! It was so relaxing!! I’ll also be doing a review on Sebastian’s but I’ll leave you with two words…guava butter!
A great view of the new Riviera Resort (DVC) next door!
After a walk outside, we decided to check out Centertown Market! It’s so full of color and smelled wonderful! A great choice if you are looking for a quick bite or to use those quick service credits!
Since we were just visiting we didn’t spend time at the pool but it’s one of the best on property! (From WaltDisneWorld.com)
Overall I’d definitely recommend this resort, especially as another option for families of 5!!
