Never Too Much of A Good Thing!

In the past few years, we’ve stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter more than any other resort!  If it ain’t broken…don’t fix it right?  The thing is…WHY? Why do we keep staying at the same resort?  Let’s talk about my top 5 reasons  we continue to stay at Port Orleans French Quarter!

In no particular order…
#1- Themeing
I just LOVE this resort. I love the gardens and fountains.  The resort sits along the canal or “Sassagoula River” as Disney lovingly refers to it.  It’s so quiet and peaceful here. I could walk around for hours.   I love coming back from a fun filled day at the resort to the calm and  peacefulness. It’s fun to just walk from our room to the pool.  The fact that this resort is so small makes it even better! It only has one bus stop vs. four like it’s sister resort Port Orleans Riverside and also Coronado Springs.
#2- Location
Many people prefer to be on the monorail line for its proximity to the Magic Kingdom (and EPCOT..kind of).  I love that Port Orleans French Quarter is so centrally located!  Just a boat ride to Disney Springs and minutes away from Hollywood Studios and EPCOT it is perfectly located on Disney property.  Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom aren’t too much further!

#3- Pool
As my kids get older, the pool is becoming more and more important in our Disney vacation. On our last visit, my daughter couldn’t get enough of the slide (which Value resorts do not have).   This resort only has one pool (versus 1 main pool and several quiet pools like the other moderate resorts) but considering this resort is so much smaller it doesn’t seem to matter much. Even during peak Spring Break crowds this resort never felt busy!

#4-Rooms
There isn’t a huge difference in square footage from the Value level to Moderate but it definitely FEELS larger.  Plus at the moderate level you get 2 Queen beds instead of double…which comes in handy whens sleeping with Toddlers!

Two queen beds with wooden headboards by a side table, across from dresser, TV, 2 chairs and wall mirror
The rooms have recently been renovated with hard wood floors and a few other other upgrades!

#5- Price
I’ll admit it..we’ve become somewhat of hotel snobs over the years.  The Value resorts are great in a pinch and if it’s our only option for visiting Walt Disney World, we’ll take it…BUT given the choice we like to stay Moderate or Deluxe.  Port Orleans French Quarter is the perfect in between! It has a lot of the perks we love from the Deluxe level, like bigger rooms and beds, beautiful grounds, and great location…but not at the price point!!
